Strong police unions

Two stories today highlight the continued strength of police unions in some cities. In Philadelphia, Commissioner Ramsey indicated he would like to institute regular rotations of personel in drug units to deter corruption, but admitted it probably won’t happen since the union opposes it. In Seattle, a federal judge approved a police reform plan required by USDOJ, but the police union intends to try to block the plan in court.
