CA officers on trial — acquitted

Two Fullerton, CA police officers charged criminally in the death of a mentally-ill person in 2011 have been acquitted. One officer was charged with second-degree murder and the other with involuntary manslaughter. A third officer charged with involuntary manslaughter is scheduled to be tried separately.

    Why is it that even if you catch cops on the act on video like murder, it doesn’t mean that they are going to prison? If this was a private citizen, the district attorney would have a slam dunk case.
