Police oversight shake-up in Oakland

A federal judge has fired his appointed “compliance director” overseeing reforms in the Oakland, California police and shifted those responsibilities to his already-appointed monitor. This saga in Oakland has been going for over 10 years now, with the monitor’s firm paid almost $1 million annually.
