Mayors, chiefs discuss Ferguson

This article reports a closed-door meeting of mayors and chiefs at the Clinton presidential library to consider the implications of the events in Ferguson, Missouri. Officials seem resolved to initiate reforms in police selection, training, and tactics, but Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey sounded a sobering note: “Think about Sandy Hook. You had 20-something babies slaughtered and everybody was focused on it, and then what happened? Nothing. Zero. As Americans, we don’t stay awake very long.”
