This op-ed reflects on the first five years of the Citizens Police Review Board in Columbia, Missouri. The board hears appeals of PD complaint review decisions, engages in outreach and mediation, and makes policy recommendations. Interestingly, either citizens or police officers can appeal complaint decisions to the CPRB.

It is good that the police recruits are told about CPRB and that both the police and civilians can make file their complaints to the board.
