State standards in Ohio

Ohio’s governor has appointed a committee to set state-wide standards on police use of force as well as recruiting and hiring. This follows earlier post-Ferguson calls for national standards and a presidential task-force report on 21st century policing. Conflicting philosophies toward local, state, and national responsibilities related to policing are likely to be debated in the months to come.
