Independent review in New Orleans

New Orleans established an Office of Independent Police Monitor in 2008. This article reports ongoing friction between the monitor and the city’s Inspector General, who has accused the monitor of ethics violations. An ethics hearing will be held later this month; meanwhile the city council is considering ordinance revisions to give the monitor more autonomy and resources.
