Efficiency report on UK police

The United Kingdom now conducts annual Police Effectiveness, Efficiency, and Legitimacy (PEEL) assessments of its police forces. The 2015 efficiency review is available here. National funding for the country’s 43 local forces has been reduced 25% since 2010. The forces have found ways to cut spending but are struggling to define needed capabilities to meet future demands. Public surveys indicate that about 1/3 of residents have noticed reduced police presence in their local areas, while half think it has stayed about the same.
