Americans’ views of police

This new report from the Cato Institute draws on a variety of recent surveys and studies to summarize how Americans view the police. It finds a substantial racial gap in experiences with police, along with demographic and partisan differences in favorability toward police, yet widespread agreement about police priorities and reform measures. Overall, while opinions vary, no group is “anti-cop.”
