Community policing in Tulsa

Voters in Tulsa recently approved a referendum providing permanent funding for 160 additional police officers. This article reports establishment of a 26-member commission with a 90-day deadline to identify “consensus around the community policing strategies best suited for Tulsa.” The city was a pioneer in community policing in the 1980s under chief Drew Diamond.
