Leader vs. cheerleader

This blog post by a retired officer discusses the negative perception of former President Obama held by many in law enforcement. The post suggests that police wanted a cheerleader who clearly took their side, but instead got a leader who recognized deep-rooted problems, tried to bridge the gap between minority communities and police, and refused to be the excuser-in-chief.

    As I mentioned there, I don’t hate Obama. However, sometimes, a leader has to be a cheerleader, and he missed numerous opportunities.
