Pipeline to trouble starts early

According to this article, Illinois has a high rate of suspensions of kids from state-funded preschools. A coalition of police chiefs and prosecutors argues this is counter-productive and is asking the legislature to implement consistent standards for these preschools and professional development for their staffs.

    Nice to see the police becoming more involved in not sending people especially kids to prison and actually want public funding to be put in the educational and social programs instead of trying to put more in public safety. Of course, it would be nice if cops knew more about the people in the communities that they patrol. Too many times, they only know someone from the rap sheet that is displayed on their computers in their cars.
